September - December 2000 Season
Welcome to our autumn/winter season of experiential events for men and women, mothers, fathers, sons & daughters. We will be welcoming back some old friends and introducing some exciting new faces in what promises to be a very stimulating season, including an extended drumming programme, mask-work and our first Mothers & Daughters weekend.
Mayan shaman Martin Prechtel will be back in December to lead our Winter Men's Gathering, bringing his own blend of eloquence and indigenous wisdom. We are also delighted to welcome John Lee, best-selling author of The Flying Boy and At My Father's Wedding who will be joining Martin for the first time in this country. John is a hugely popular teacher in America where he has been leading men's conferences for over a decade. His "down-home" country style is the perfect compliment to Martin's flamboyance. In fact it's a pairing of uniquely complimentary talents. There's a lot of interest in this event already and we expect a full house, so take advantage of our new Earlybird reductions and book soon to avoid disappointment.
John Lee will also be leading a special day for therapists and practitioners, on anger, that most distrusted and misunderstood of emotions. John's groundbreaking book Facing the Fire will be the starting point for a rewarding and enlightening day.
We also welcome Viktor Bischoff, breath teacher, mask worker and Master of Movement at Shakespeare's Globe who will be leading a two day exploration of creativity with William Ayot in November.
Calling creative, responsible, men!!! Word & Action (Dorset) is looking for men interested in developing their own creativity in a community theatre and language arts company. Call Anthony Ward on 01202 883197.
Many thanks to Martin Prechtel for permission to reproduce his delicious and mysterious drawings from Secrets of the Talking Jaguar. Big thanks again to Patrick Harrison for brochure design and to Marie Wencel in the office.
Jane Morrell left the Wild Dance Team this spring. We thank her for her fiery ideas and wish her every success with her new ventures in Devon.
With regards from the Wild Dance Team: William Ayot, Jason Boden, Debora Collister, Simon Evans, Tom Freeman, Victoria Gater, Luli Harvey, Chris Hurn, John Scaife and Robert Sherman..
