When should I book ?
Generally, most people book our vehicles around 1 year in advance, although we do take bookings up to 2 years in advance. The earlier the booking is made, the more chance there is that the vehicle you want will still be available.

What's the first step?
The first step is to give us a call to check if our cars are available and get a quotation for your specific journey. Alternatively you can use the form provided on this website.

How do I make a booking ?
To make a booking, we require a deposit of £50 to secure the car of your choice. We also need you to complete a booking form so that we can be sure we have all your details correctly.  A copy of the booking form may be downloaded from our Website, Click Here to download.

How do I pay?
The deposit can be paid either by cash or cheque (made payable to The Vintage Car Company). The balance is required one month before your wedding. Approximately one week before your wedding we will contact you to discuss timings, if not already arranged

Do I need to come and view the cars before I book ?
No, roughly half our bookings are taken directly over the telephone. However, many couples wish to come and check-out the cars as it's a good opportunity to discuss details, timings and any other special arrangements. You are more than welcome to come and view our vehicles without obligation. Please do make an appointment though as the cars may not always be available or may be undergoing maintenance.

Do I need a second car for the bridesmaids?
Not necessarily. If the traveling time between pick-up and ceremony is less than 10 minutes, we will make two trips taking the bridesmaids to the ceremony first at no extra cost, although please do agree this with us before the wedding day.

What does the chauffeur wear ?
All our chauffeurs are appropriately attired in dark suit, peaked cap and gloves, as befitting of the vehicle and occasion.

Do you operate all year round ?
Currently we operate our vehicles from April to October, inclusive.  Our office is of course open to take bookings all year round.

How long do I have the car for ?
We only hire out our vehicles for one wedding per day, so you don't have to worry about us rushing off to the next wedding. We generally arrive about twenty minutes before the bride needs to depart to the ceremony. This gives plenty of time for photographs before hand. We will wait while the ceremony and photographs take place and then take you to your reception. We will be happy to wait for a further short time at the reception if you require any further photographs with the car. If you have any special requirements we will be happy to help where ever possible. Generally, the total hire lasts between 2 and 4 hours depending on locations.

What happens if the Ceremony and Reception are at the same Venue?
In such circumstances, we will be happy to wait until after the ceremony and then take the newly-wed couple for a short drive to give them a few quiet minutes to themselves prior to the photographs.

What areas do you cover ?
We cover the surrounding areas of Woodham Ferrers, Chelmsford, Billericay, Danbury, Maldon, Burnham, Rayleigh, Southend, Basildon, Brentwood and Braintree.

What happens if the car breaks down ?
While we maintain our vehicles in the best possible condition, just as with modern cars the unexpected can happen. Given sufficient warning, we will arrange with your agreement, to provide a similar vehicle, or provide a full refund.

What happens if my wedding is cancelled ?
If you cancel your car, your deposit will not be refunded unless we are able to secure a further booking for your car on that day.
