Where is Israel?
Well ..... it's in the Middle East isn't it?
Not according to our geographically challenged trombonist John Barber! As we sit in the tourbus the Brasshoppers sometimes like to play 20 questions -you know I'm female and alive, guess who I am , in twenty questions. This was exactly the starting point when John assumed the mantle. After a dozen or so questions we had established that John was a white European female solo singer and a few oher details on the way. Time to have a go

Kate Bush ..... No
Cerys wahtshername from Catatonia..... No
etc, etc, etc ..... No ..... No ..... No!!

20 questions came and went. John kindly extended the nymber of questions. At 35 + we finally gave up - beaten by the maestros superior knowledge. Who is it we cried desparately?
"It's Dana International!" came the reply.
OK notwithstanding the fact that Dana used to be a man before she had her sex change, "doesn't she come from Israel centre of the problems in the Middle East?" we complained unanimously. Defiantly and bravely John stood his ground.
Yes Dana International was from Israel
and
Israel is part of Europe - how could it enter the Eurovision Song contest otherwise?
Perhaps we should write to the United Nations - this could be the solution to a conflict which has existed for over 50 years! By the way John is a fantastic trombonist who really excells at what he does - he just doesn't know where the hell he is (some of the time).
