For those who are familiar with St Wilfrid's today, certain elements of the above photograph of 1856 are still visible:
The picture of the Sacred Heart above the altar on the right hand side is now in the narthex (porch). The Altar seems substantially the same, and the gong is still on the sanctuary.
The Altar rails are now up high fronting the choir loft.

Interestingly it would appear that the large columns currently in the nave were not structurally necessary. Gone now is the balcony running around the whole of three sides of the church.
