A highly original and innovative collection designed by Miroslav Trejtnar who is rapidly establishing a firm reputation throughout Europe for his artistry and humorous approach to model making in wood. Many of the models are mechanical with moving parts and are adult collectors items as well as toys.
Please note that all the items are hand painted and whilst the structures remain constant each painted design is original and we therefore never guarantee specific colours or designs.
Miroslav Trejtnar was educated at the High School of Arts and Crafts, Prague, where he concentrated his efforts on wood carving and following this in the Department of Puppets, Dramatic University, Prague.
His inspirational driving force is the relationship between the starting "block" and the realisation of the end product through his love of wood. The sharp quirky humour he transmits into his toys through the use of sharp angles and bright colours are a trade mark of his individual artistic style.
