Micro Materials Workshops
Each year Micro Materials hold a number of workshops in various locations around the world. Registration is often free (or at least heavily subsidised). Although the format of the meeting may vary from event to event, most will feature:
· Guest speakers from our international user base
· A guide to the fundamentals of nano-mechanical property measurements
· Descriptions of more advanced applications
· A chance to meet users and Micro Materials experts and discuss your applications in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
· The chance to run some samples (time allowing)
The next workshops will be at:
Darmstadt, Germany – 12 and 13 November, 2002
This is an ideal opportunity to get to know more about the instrument and in particular learn how to analyse data-sets.
Participants are encouraged to submit samples in advance.

Morning: Split sessions:
Session 1: introduction to Nanoindentation
Session 2: basic tips on using the NanoTest
Afternoon: Mixture of user and other talks, with the
chance to see and use instruments.
18th Dec:
European workshop
Mixture of hands-on training (with 3 systems and 2 off-line analysis
stations)
Mixture of latest innovations, user presentations and round-table
discussions.
The meeting will provide an informal chance to question leading experts in this area.
