Each time an order is received we put together the blank pattern for the chosen plaque style eg. HGG ; the required number of letters in the style chosen eg. Roman ; any emblem or motif required.
Unless you specify otherwise, the layout of the plaque, and the size of letters used, will be determined by the plaque style, the number of letters required and any emblems etc.. according to your order. If we encounter any problems we will contact you.
The pattern is then cast in aluminium so that the whole plaque comes out as one piece. Aluminium is durable, weather resistant and will not corrode.
After cleaning and hand finishing the casting is etch-primed. This seals the casting and prevents any paint from flaking off in the future. It then gets an undercoat and two coats of enamel paint. The letters are also given at least two coats of enamel paint. Any emblems are painted, in detail, by our artist. This means that a simple wipe-down with a damp cloth will keep your plaque clean.
