WIMPEY SEAHORSE.

North Sea Oil Rig Supply Vessel/Tug.

The "WIMPEY SEAHORSE" and her sister ship the "WIMPEY SEAHUNTER" were both built by Appledore Shipyards, North Devon. both being complete during 1982. They are built as multi-role vessels, being classes as Fire Fighting, Tug, Anchor Handling and Supply.

"WIMPEY SEAHORSE" was commissioned in February 1982, shortly afterwards she was requisitioned by the Royal Navy and taken up for the Falklands Island War, she was one of the vessels that took part in the liberation of South Georgia. She was returned to the UK in September 1982 and after a refit returned to North Sea Work.

Our detailed moulded hull complete with comprehensive drawings specially supplied for us by DAVID METCALF make for a highly detailled and colourful model, with twin screw power and R/C. she makes a good regatta boat, tug towing boat and heavy weather model, even the monitors can be made to work, a good one for beginner or expert alike to try
