TUG TYPHOON.
Twin Screw Salvage/Towing & Supply Tug.
The full size "TYPHOON" and her sister ship `Tempest' are large and very capable vessels, built by Damen in Holland for their owners Wijsmuller in 1976, these ships at the time took North Sea supply ship design to new limits, having a very high bow, piled up superstructure and a low stern desk, known all over the world, these ships have carried out many varied jobs including the tow-out of the `Statfiord C' oil rig platform for which their bows were specially modified (details on plan).
Our superb large hull has bow chine line, anchor recesses, bow thruster and side belts all moulded in. The extremely well detailed, full-size plans were specially drawn for us by MARBETH DESIGNS from the original ships plans, this model is ideal for for multi-function R/C and twin screw electric power, ideal for tug towing and especially regatta work the model looks very impressive on the water, this hull measures 10" from keel to deck level so has plenty of internal volumn for fitting all those special functions such as horn, working bow thruster, engine sound, fire hydrants etc., a good model for expert of beginner alike.
