HMS HEDINGHAM CASTLE.

WWII Royal Navy Castle Class Frigate.

This model hull is of the `Castle' class frigates that followed the better known `Flower' class corvettes, of similar design to the `Flower' class, but larger and more capable all round, the `Castle' class frigates were completed toward the end of WWII. "HEDINGHAM CASTLE" was a member of the 1943/45 programme and was completed as an anti-submarne frigate in 1945.

Our super detailed hull features all plating (this hull features "Joggled" plating as found on "HEDINGHAM CASTLE" and "LEEDS CASTLE", this makes the plate lines more obvious than would normally be the case) port holes, panama ports and pipe hawses moulded in.

Each hull is supplied with two full-size plans by DAVID MacGREGOR, these are super detailed drawings and make for a very detailed scale model, with many commercial fittings available at this scale it is a subject that can even be tackled by a beginner.

The model is large enough to take virtually any form of power plant, it is ideal for steam, in fact the prototype model was powered by a 12v. car heater blower motor driven by a small 12v. car battery, as with any large model is looks superb on the water attracting admiration and comment where ever it is seen, a real crowd puller!, being such a large model makes it an absolutely ideal rough weather model, it can also run for many hours, perhaps good for an endurance event!
