"DARING" Class Fleet Destroyer.
The `Daring' class of destroyer built in the early 1950's were at 3,500tons the largest of their type ever to serve with the Royal Navy, being over twice the size of their predecessors, they were designed specifically for operation in the Pacific region.
HMS DIAMOND was the last of the class to be built, after much use she was scrapped in 1980, two of her sister ships were sold on to the Royal Australian Navy where they served for many years.
Our hull features all the plate lines, hawse holes, portholes etc., moulded in, the hull is easily large enough for twin screw propulsion, the plans are drawn by David Coleman and supplied by Nexus, the two sheets supply excellent detail and many expanded construction drawings, from these drawings a superb working model can easily be built be the not so experienced builder. The hull has good on the water performance and can be run in quite heavy weather conditions.
