R.S.CALYPSO.

Research Ship/Ocean Exploration Vessel.

Jaques Cousteau's "CALYPSO" is one of the best known vessels of modern times, She was a WWII American wooden mine-sweeper bought and converted to an Ocean Exploration vessel by Jacques Cousteau in 1949. The modifications included a special metal bow incorporating on observation chamber at the base of the stem.

This spacious hull, with the access tube and observation chamber moulded in, together with the full size plans means a nice model of an unusual and noteworthy subject can be made, ideal for R/C. and electric power, and with a fair displacement other working features such as lights, engine sound, horn etc can all be fitted, with her white colour scheme she looks good on the water and like her full size counterpart she can take heavy weather conditions in her stride.
