MOULDINGS from "BOATS & MODELS" of Norwich.

This company was formally owned by the well known Norfolk modeler Ivor Broughton. Metcalf Mouldings bought the company and all its rights in 2002. We did originally plan to re-release all the kits. To date we have only done the Lady Laura/Marina as a full kit, this necessitated the complete re-tooling of the whole model. Bearing this in mind we will not be re-issuing any of the other kits in the range. We are however prepared to offer them as mouldings only sets, all come with one of our 'Orange' construction manuals, also a copy off the original (not to scale!) drawings. Most of the moulds are showing their age, unfortunately the poor condition of the moulds cannot be reflected in the cost of the mouldings, if anything it is more expensive to make mouldings from a poor set of moulds as from a brand new set of moulds. The all white mouldings will require varying degrees of 'fettling'.
These moulding sets are only made to order, therefore please allow 28 days for delivery.The moulding sets we are offering are as follows:

Cygnus 38

"CYGNUS 38"
Model Scale = 3/4" to 1ft. (1:16)

Length = 28.1/2"o/a. Beam = 10.1/2".
Displacement = Approx 16lbs.

Single screw scale model of the 38ft. Cygnus Marine coastal fishing vessel, (illustration as above) designed by Percy Mitchell. Hull shape is of a typical displacement west country fisher. Most harbours in the UK will have some of these brightly coloured fishing vessels in them. On full-size boats hulls are normally blue, decks grey, superstructures white and masts/gantries yellow. Mouldings set comprises: Hull, deck, deck hatch, wheelhouse, wheelhouse interior, wheelhouse roof. Set of cast white metal window frames. Copy off original kit drawing. These moulds have had some refurbishment work but will require a minimum amount of 'fettling'. The model is easily powered by a '545' type motor with two channel radio gear. A small model that is quite capable of taking rough water and is eminently suitable for model regatta work.

All the above makes for a complete scale kit to make the model to museum standards, when fitted with individual motor controls the on the water performance is very realistic and looks good.

Price: £140.00p. + P & P.

Cygnus 33

"CYGNUS 33"
Model Scale = 3/4" to 1ft. (1:16)

Length = 24"o/a. Beam = 10.1/4".

This allows maximum beam to be carried well forward at deck level giving a huge work area but with a fine waterline. Mouldings set comprises: Hull, deck, deck hatch, wheelhouse, wheelhouse interior, wheelhouse roof. Set of cast white metal window frames. These moulds have had some refurbishment work but will require a minimum amount of 'fettling. The model is easily powered by a '545' type motor with two channel radio gear. A small 'bulky' model that is quite capable of taking rough water. Eminently suitable for model regatta work. Will fit in the back of any small car.
