SEA TROJAN.

Single Screw Harbour Tug

MOULDING SET:- HULL, MAIN SUPERSTRUCTURE, WHEELHOUSE, FUNNEL.

The "SEA TROJAN" is one of a pair of tugs owned and operated by the Aberdeen Harbour Board. Her sister ship `Sea Griffon' and herself were built by John Lewis & Sons of Aberdeen in 1962. They are what can be considered to be classic looking tugs, with their large steerable Kortz nozzle they are extremely manoeuvrable and powerful for their size, with a bollard pull of 14tons and a cruising speed of 11.5knots.

Whilst they are a comparatively small tug at 88ft. the model is big and beefy at a scale of 1/2" to 1ft. (1:24) the hull is strongly moulded with bulwarks and anchor recesses moulded in.

Our super mouldings set comes complete with a full-size two sheet plan set by IAN L RAE. These plans are extremely accurate and superbly detailed with every fitting drawn and detailed. You will be hard pressed to find better.

Using the mouldings set a large and good looking model can be built fairly quickly, with the availability of fittings to 1:24 scale this is a model that can be tackled even by the beginner. I have seen one made up running on the water, as with all largish models it looked really super, ideal for regatta work and tug-towing events.
