Typical Steel/Wooden Herring Steam Drifter.

"ALISON" is a typical steel/wooden steam drifter of the early 1900's, many hundreds of these vessels operated out of the East Coast ports of Grt.Yarmouth and Grimsby during the first half of the century, drift trawling for Herring & Mackerel, many were taken up during both world wars for use as mine-sweepers into the Royal Navy.

Our massively moulded hull includes moulded in rubbing strakes and panama ports, the full-size drawings show detail of a typical trawler and form a good basis for a named vessel, as detail is large it is relatively easy to build and many commercial fittings are available to simplify and speed construction.

This is the one of the largest hull we make and her sheer size, with a lift-off superstructure, make her suitable for the installation of large steam engines and boilers, she will however easily take R/C gear and fitted with a large electric motor with a car battery for power will give a tremendous running time, she would in fact be perfect for a 24hr endurance event. As with all large models, when complete she looks absolutely magnificent on the water, she will of course take virtually any weather conditions in her stride. If you are thinking of a big model, look no further!
