Finding Leigh House

If you're driving via motorway M4, it's best to leave at Junction 17 and take the A350 for Chippenham, rather than leave the motorway at Junction 18: from there the route passes through some busy areas, which can suffer from traffic queues at peak periods.

The entrance to Leigh House is not easy to spot when driving, being hidden by the curve of the road from one direction, and buildings beside the gate from the other. Slow down when you see the bends, and look out for the hanging sign on a post by the edge of the road.

Seen above in turn are: the view approaching from the east and from the west, the post, the sign, and the drive.

The drive runs past the courtyard with the ornamental pool and main entrance to the house (see left), to an area of gravelled hard standing at the end, providing ample parking and seclusion from the road.
