Sentences
and Words of Life
We use sentences based
upon biblical teaching, but not simply quotations, and we consider
their meaning before using them.
All the sentences focus our attention on God and serve as channels
through which the power of his Spirit can enter our hearts and quicken,
develop and strengthen the spiritual life latent in us.
Most of our sentences have in them a word of life which 'stands for
a divine quality which of its very nature is eternal and cannot be
subject to change' wrote Marian Dunlop. Each word of life can have
the words 'I am' before it, for example: 'I am life', 'I am love',
'I am peace'

A word of life, 'when we reach our deepest stillness should be sufficient
to keep the mind steady in the presence of the indwelling Spirit, while
the supporting words fade away and we rest in the light of his presence'
(From Notes by Isabel Henderson, our President, February 2001)
